Breaking the Law

No white after Labor Day. What? Says who? I was really curious about this law and wanted to get to the bottom of it. After a few Google searches, I found one theory. White is a color that keeps us cool in the summer time, therefore we naturally want to switch to warmer colors as fall begins. Okay.. I guess that makes sense.. but NO white? Like absolutely none? That's a tad bit extreme. Fashion has always been about breaking the rules, so lets trash that old urban legend. I think that with the right staple pieces, white can be a part of your wardrobe all year round. It's a basic neutral that can compliment all skin tones. This particular dress is a perfect transition into fall because of the texture and lining. It can be paired with a blazer or cardigan for lower temperatures, it's easy to dress up with some jewelry and a great pair of wedges, and it can even look "causal cute" by pairing it with your favorite sandals. I personally like to style this dress by wearing a black bandeau under the sheer white fabric and a pair of black booties. This creates the perfect edgy look, especially with the sexy open back (as shown below)
All in all, there are so many different ways to wear this dress. It is a white canvas just waiting for you to accessorize and make it your own.

Your New Go To

Picture this: it's a lazy Saturday afternoon, you're curled up on the couch reading a good book, or watching a Ryan Gosling movie (I mean, does the guy make ANY bad movies??) and you get a call from your bestie.. She says, "Hey, I'll be by in 30 to pick you up!" WAIT, WHAT?! This is where your brain goes into full blown PANIC MODE!! You suddenly realize that you have forgotten that your dear best friend has added you as her plus one to a wedding!
I'm sure 99% of us girls go through this situation numerous times in our lives, but getting ready in a pinch is something we are all about. There is nothing better than getting a compliment on how you look, and being able to say "Oh really? I just threw this together in like 20 minutes!" This is why it's important to have your trusty go-to pieces. The outfit below is a perfect example. The light weight material, easy, slip on dress allows a variety of different styles. The floral adds a fun, flirty twist without being an obnoxious over bearing print. There is also an endless shoe selection from heels, wedges, booties, and sandals. From dinner parties, baby showers, or just a night out, this outfit can be changed and tweaked so many ways, that you can wear the dress over and over, and not feel like you're rocking the same old look.

Side Note - This dress can also turn work appropriate in minutes by adding a blazer and some flats.

Sin City

Vegas is full of casinos, bright neon lights, and quit a mixture of different people. The popular destination is a place for Americans to runaway without needing a passport. With the on going party atmosphere we are allowed to momentarily escape, let go, and maybe even fall in love.
My favorite piece of clothing I wore in Vegas was the the Grey Arrow Tank. I paired the loose fit top with a tight polka dot skirt, and white converse. It was very casual, yet fashion forward.

Side Note - To create a more high end look, pair the Grey Arrow Tank with skinny jeans, a good statement necklace, and your best high heels.

A Combination of Sexy and Cute

Today, we talk about something every girl is trying to prefect.. balance. No, I’m not talking about your chi or your hormones; I’m talking about the balance between sexy, and cute. This can be really difficult.. LIKE REALLY DIFFICULT! Here are two appearance situations we come across.
1. How to give a little bit of "sex appeal" without looking like a total sex bomb.
2. Staying modest without looking like you just got off work at the local library.
Trying to make a statement, without it being apparent you worked forty-five minutes on, can be entirely exhausting.

Thank goodness for mesh panels, ladies! They allow you the freedom to show a little sneak peek of skin, as well as, remain covered up. This dress (pictured below) for example, is ideal. The see through mesh on both the shoulders and stomach gives a perfect sense of sexiness. On the contrary, the length and horizontal stripes put off a innocent 1950's vibe. Pairing this dress with open or closed toe wedges and a couple key accessories will leave you feeling flirty and fun.

Side Note -  For girls with a little extra “love” around the tummy area, try a top with mesh on the upper shoulder and arm areas, or a maxi skirt with mesh on the bottom half. It gives you a chance to show some skin, and feel sexy without showing off parts you’re not entirely comfortable with.

Cause you're hot then you're cold

August is full of hot temperatures, which normally means that every facility you enter is freezing cold! Whether it be at your job, a movie theater, or shopping center the AC unit is definitely working hard this summer. Trying to style an outfit for these two different climates is a complete pain in the you know what. Normally we just force ourselves to wear jeans/pants to keep our legs warm while we're indoors. The problem is once you set foot outside in that attire, you're suddenly battling a heat stroke. If you decide to wear a skirt/shorts everything is A-okay, until you are stuck inside the refrigerator that you call an office building, rubbing away goose bumps. This is frustrating, but I believe there is a solution. The printed kimono is perfect paired with shorts (as shown above) or even a nice dress. The vibrant patterns provide a perfect accessory around your waist when outside and a perfect cover up for when you are getting too cold inside.

Side Note - Kimonos are great for women of every shape. They're loose enough to hide certain parts of your body, but when belted can also accentuate all of your womanly curves.
